Discover the preserved authenticity of our grand cru born from an historically acclaimed estate since the beginning of the 20th century, known for producing very elegant wines. We have reached the Grand Cru Classé status in 2022, no doubt thanks to our usual and regular high quality winemaking standards.
PURE ELEGANCE
Our vineyard is located near the famous Côte Pavie, Amongst our neighbors we can find Chateau Pavie, Chateau Larcis Ducasse or Château La Gaffelière.
Our vineyard is taken great care of by our dedicated team day after day. Clos Badon-Thunevin is name well known and well liked by our customers, private or corporate. We are proud to have positive reviews on wine lovers apps such as Vivino, Wine Searcher or Le Figaro Vin, to name a few.
AN ODE TO REFINEMENT
Surfing on their success with Chateau Valandraud, Jean Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud have decided to spread their wings and buy this beautiful terroir of 5.8 ha in 1998.
Since then, the estate is managed by a part of the same team who is in charge of Chateau Valandraud. The 5 men (and women) team’s expertise and thorough everyday work all year long is the guarantee of the necessary respect of the terroir and vineyard allowing the production of a great wine.
We are strongly attached to our ethics of respecting the gifts of nature. Our vineyard must be reflected in the wine produced. Traditional work of the soils to help maintaining a biologic activity in the vineyard and deep rooting of the vines is part of the process. We are helping the soil to regenerate itself in wintertime by adding green fertilizers to keep the minerals at a good level.
Fun fact : the Clos Badon-Thunevin vineyard is our unofficial trial zone for organic winegrowing since 2000.
SAVOIR-FAIRE AND RESPECT OF THE LAND
Savoir faire is a must in order to maintain the exceptional terroir we have. This means thorough processes and precise techniques to respect the terroir typicity.
Vinification cellars designed to reach an optimum result, based in the historic cellar where “garage wines” were born. They were remodeled in 2016/2017 and received brand new stainless steel vats in 2018.
Since vintage 2008 , the grapes harvested are sorted by AMOS Tribaie upon their arrival.
